January 20, 2010

she’s two.  man oh man – time sure flies.  i now have a two month old, two year old, four year old, and six year old.  man – I’M old!  :P  norah’s birthday was monday.  she had a great day after being pretty sick all weekend.

the cake.

the birthday cake gods were smiling down on me that day.  i had waited until the day of her birthday to make her cake, and john had work.  charlotte who usually needs to be held all day, and rarely sleeps, slept for THREE HOURS! in the living room.  if she didn’t, poor norah would’ve had a much less grand cake.  :D  it is my favorite tradition in our family.  making their birthday cakes.  :)

OMG, Jenn, that cake is fabulous!!!!!! I thought it was amazing, and then saw the cut shot and nearly fell out of my chair. I love it! Did you just make a white cake batter and color batches of it with food coloring?

  7. Jenn says:

thanks heather – yes, it’s two boxes of white cake colored with food coloring. got the idea here —–> http://thepioneerwoman.com/tasty-kitchen/recipes/desserts/rainbow-cake/

I LOVE the shot of her peeking out from behind the cake! Happy Birthday, Norah! It seems like I was just reading about her birth and here she is 2 already and Brooke soon to follow…sheesh!

You made my heart stop with that cake. You are unbelievable and a little bit out of your mind all at the same time. :P

Jordan turned 2 on Monday too, but I haven’t posted the pictures yet. Her cake was a much-less-inspired “quickie cake” following a busy day. She holds up her index finger on each hand to say she’s 2 just like Norah does. It’s so cute. :)
