anyone up for a challenge?

i have found a new obsession in pinterest.  if you don’t know what pinterest is, you have to go check it out.  it is like a virtual bulletin board.  what i like about it most is that i can “see” things instead of just having things linked in my favorite places.  i am more apt to make things i can see, or cook when the photo is right there.  i’ve already completed more things i’ve pinned in two weeks than stuff  i’ve had sitting in my favorites for a year or more!  plus, there are great creative style minded people on there which is very helpful for a style-challenged lady like me.  i think i am able to send referrals if anyone needs them.  i am not sure if there is a limit.  just shoot me an email at impromptukiss@gmail.com.

so back to the challenge.  this was something i saw and pinned to my photography board on pinterest.

i am going to do it for my june photos in my 365 project.  if you are interested in doing it to, i’ve love a link to where you will post photos!  i think it will be a fun project.  sometimes i need some direction, and hopefully i will be able to get a little creative.  hope some of you decided to do it, too!

and what is a post without a little cheese? 

he’s six!  yesterday was his birthday.  i know it happens every year, but each year i am still shocked.

“BIRTH” DAY.

getting his newboen check up, on the couch!  our first homebirthed baby.  obviously it was a fantastic experience.  we did it again & again.

four.  everyone was so squinty, lol!

five.  definitely a big kid now.

and earlier this week.  just about six.

he had a great day.  cupcakes at school, the lego store after.  he was like, well, a boy in a lego store.  the store was pretty empty.  worked great for us with 4 kids going in different directions!  he got giftcards from my mom & grandma to the lego store, so he was thrilled to have a nice amount to get whatever his heart desired.

when we got home, we had his requested dinner, tacos!  then cake.  this year, i told the kids they are getting surprise cakes.  the past year or two cakes have stressed me out, trying to make what they want – so this is a fun way to go this year.  i decided on a pb&j cake for ethan, but switched it up to a fluffernutter at the last minute.  i made the cake and pb icing straight from the recipe that came with the pan.  i wanted to make it more “wheat bread” looking, but was afraid to change the recipe around.  as it was, we ended up making it twice, lol!
