a friend and i were just talking about the last time i did this project, and i figured i’d give it another go. today was crazy from beginning to end, so hold on tight, lol.
(obviously) 5:16am. wake up. my alarm is set for 5:30, but charlotte usually gets me up before that. yawn.
6am – making lunches. nothing spectacular, but edible. and better than school’s choices. corn dogs or pancakes. mmmmm, lol.
7am – getting ready to get out the door. kayleigh and ethan are dropped off at school at 7:30.
8am- leaving for norah’s swimming lessons. the mess in the living room is the result of a fit ethan threw this morning. over shoes. so i left it there for him to clean up when he got home. and he did.
9am. playing on the (turned off) sprayground waiting for lessons to start.
10am – leaving swimming. i have no idea why there are signs saying not to turn left. it is not a busy road. i used to turn right, make a left onto a dead end street, make a u-turn, and then make a right back on to the street … but after watching a cop do it, and nearly every other person leaving the pool, i now just turn left.
11am – running a few errands. norah spent her birthday money from aunt lois on a cat keyboard. kayleigh has a keyboard from john’s mom and she never shares it. norah loves having one now.
12pm – while we were out norah started screaming and crying that her eyes hurt. the same thing happened before bed last night. i was wondering if it is allergies, because i’ve already been getting them pretty bad some days (i never had allergies until we moved here, btw!). i bought children’s claritin and gave her a dose, then called her doctor. she’s never in her life had a sick visit to the doctor before, but she was just inconsolable. they had no appointments, so they told us to go to urgent care. by the time we got there, she could open her eyes again. she did say they were still itchy. she ended up getting diagnosed with an ear infection (allllmost double EI), and either pink eye OR allergies, lol. he said she may wake up with pink eye tomorrow, and if not, it’s probably allergies. her eyes aren’t pink or gunky. i really think it is allergies.
1pm – dropping off prescription for pain med ear drops for her ear infection for if it starts to hurt her.
2pm – picking up big kids from school. this “no u-turn this block” sign is brand new today. i have been making a u-turn in this same spot for nearly three years. along with about 20 other families. so now i have to turn down another street and come out to make a left turn. no biggie, but i just thought it was funny. they put up at least 6 signs in this one little block.
3pm – homework. math. yuck. word problems. or, as kayleigh corrects me EVERY time, story problems. see, ethan is in the living room cleaning up his mess.
4pm – trying to make dinner. not getting very far.
5pm, had an early dinner, sent the big kids up to clean their rooms while i tackled downstairs. charlotte re-dumped out everything ethan had cleaned up. boo.
6pm – kids got their showers early so they could have a slice of some coffee cake i made after dinner.

7pm, big kids all in bed, charlotte going “niy niy.” in her words.

and it is now 8, and i am going to go down and empty the dishwasher and go pass out in bed with my little sweet cuddly baby. funny day to do this project. usually it’s not quite as crazy, but it’s not uncommon.
